In its first randomized clinical trial within an American Indian Community, Promoting First Relationships significantly improved observed parental sensitivity (using the Parent-Child Interaction Scales) and parents knowledge of child development. It should be noted that these findings replicate what we have found in our other randomized clinical trials in foster care (Spieker et al., 2012) and child protective services (Oxford et al., 2016).
