Parent Voices Study
Early childhood and infant mental health services are critical programs supporting very young children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development, and help give them an equitable start in life. The earlier families start engaging with these programs, the more successful the outcomes for infants and children.
But these in-person programs shifted online when the pandemic hit, heightening isolation and challenges. Researchers from Portland State, Georgetown, and UConn interviewed 100 families and program providers to understand how programs were able to keep families engaged + increase quality of care in the process. The new #ParentVoiceStudy is a rare opportunity to hear directly from families, and ultimately shares 10 recommendations to ensure that programs are reaching the families most in need of support.
